STREET SWEEPING

The City of Parkston's streets are swept at least once a month to protect water quality in Pony Creek.  When snow melts or it rains, water runoff carries sand and leaves down the street and into storm sewer openings.  This debris can build up in in the storm sewer line, causing blockages and preventing water from draining from the streets.  The City asks that property owners refrain from blowing grass clippings and raking leaves into the street.
