The East Park provides a wide range of activities for all ages.  Activities include: basketball and tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, numerous playground equipment, and public pool.  A brick shelter is available for picnic gatherings.  Electricity and water are available free of charge.

A must see attraction can be found at the entrance of the East Park.  The Veterans Memorial was erected through funding donated by the Veterans Memorial Committee as well as other organizations and personal donations.  It is dedicated to those local soldiers that paid the ultimate price for our country.  It is a wonderful spot to visit on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day when flags and lights adorn the site.

The Parkston Publc Pool is also located in the East Park, and is a popular spot for kids to visit during the hot summer months.  The pool is fully equipped with a wading pool, high dive, low dive, and ranges in depth from 3 feet to 12 feet.  Lounge chairs are provided on teh deck for adults to use.  In 2010, a 27' dual slide unit was installed in the large pool area that empties into 4' deep water.  For younger children, a turtle slide is located in the wading pool area.

The Parkston Gun Club & Sportsman's Club is located on the south side of the East Park.  This club, formed in 1955, was established to promote the sport of trap shooting.  League night for members starts at 7:00 p.m. the first Tuesday in May and continues every Tuesday for 13 weeks.  The Club welcomes youth interested in trap shooting as well.  Youth trap shooting is held every Saturday at 8:30 a.m.  For more information on the club and becoming a club member contact Larry Thuringer, President (605-928-7242) or Dale Hofer, Secretary/Treasurer (605-928-3541).
