It is dedicated to those local soldiers that paid the ultimate price for our country. It is a wonderful spot to visit on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day when flags and lights adorn the site.
The Parkston Publc Pool is also located in the East Park, and is a popular spot for kids to visit during the hot summer months. The pool is fully equipped with a wading pool, high dive, low dive, and ranges in depth from 3 feet to 12 feet. Lounge chairs are provided on teh deck for adults to use. In 2010, a 27' dual slide unit was installed in the large pool area that empties into 4' deep water. For younger children, a turtle slide is located in the wading pool area.
