  • MDS Expansion

  • 15 New Jobs, 29,000+ sq. ft. Bldg. expansion, over $2 million investment

     

  • Three new businesses, five businesses remodel, and  business ownership change

  • New Business – Tammy Wheeler, Relaxation Station

  • New Business – Tara Roth, TNT Temptations

  • New Business – Gloria Schmitz, Rollin Inn Dough Bakery

  • Remodel – Services Center (Entrance addition & new signage)

  • Remodel – Avera Bormann Manor (Room remodel & signage)

  • Remodel – Northwest Vet (Concrete pad)

  • Remodel – Mike Thompson, Gun Repair (remodeled space in former Avera Home Medical Bldg.)

  • Remodel – Agland Coop (parking lot)

  • Ownership Change – Rob & Carrie Heisinger, new owners – Walnut Dr. Apts.

     

  • Recruitment Efforts – Submitted Four proposals to SD Gov.’s Office of Econ. Dvlp. (GOED)

  • Submitted written proposals for projects that sought locations for medical billing & coding, manufacturing, dairy processing, custom manufacturer businesses to GOED.

 

  • Housing Development

  •  New Housing-Affordable Housing  Incentive / Assist in Razing of Dilapidated Properties

  • Promoted $2,500 New Housing (single & multi-family properties) Incentive in Parkston

  • No interest reported in first year’s incentive to build new homes in Community

  • Dimock & Parkston seek locations to build new affordable housing in communities

  • Working with District III on utilizing various housing incentives and configurations

  • Development Corp. works to help improve existing housing stock

  • Letters sent to 12 dilapidated property owners offering assistance.  1 response.

  • See letter sent out by PADC (other side).

  • Acquired Watson Property (N. Bismark) from absentee landowner for cleanup and disposal.

     

  • Infrastructure Development

  • Three Businesses Seek City Sewer to Expedite Individual Expansion Plans

  • Development Corp. and City work together to assist MDS, Noteboom’s and Agland Coop with a Southwest Sewer Extension Project. 

  • Grant funding available from State’s Building SD program.

  • Businesses would be annexed into City, if project is funded.
