Sex Offender Registry

The following information is provided as a public service to the community.

  • In 2006 the South Dakota State Legislature amended the sex offender registry law to provide a public access internet site which lists all offenders listed in the State.
  • South Dakota law requires any person that has been convicted of a sex crime or felony sexual contact, must register with local law enforcement within ten days of moving to that jurisdiction.  Sex Offender Registration Listing is public record.  Sex Offenders do move and fail to notify the law enforcement agency of their residence change.  Because of this, law enforcement cannot be held liable for any errors or omissions in this information.
  • WARNING: Any person who uses information contained in or accused through this website to threaten, intimidate, or harass any individual, including registrants or family members, or who otherwise misuses this information, maybe subject to criminal prosecution.  A violation is a class 6 felony and the violator could be sentenced to the South Dakota State Penitentiary for up to two years and could be fined up to $4,000.
  • If you believe any of the information found in these records is in error, or would like more information, please contact the law enforcement agency where the sex offender resides.
